Abbe Kligerman - GetMeAHealthPlan.com
If you’ve been involved with a Power Friday, or attended any NAWBO signature events, chances are you have met board member Abbe Kligerman of GetMeAHealthPlan.com. She has been an active NAWBO member since 2008, and finds “that the more I put into the organization, the more I get out of it.”
Since 2013, she has served as a NAWBO Board member, Membership Committee member, and chair of the Power Friday Committee. Power Friday meetings are held in various regional locations and are an outstanding opportunity to meet and get to know other woman business owners in a more intimate and relational setting than some of the larger NAWBO events provide. (Check the NAWBO Greater Philadelphia website for a calendar of meeting times and locations near you.) She’s a regular Power Friday attendee, so look for her!
Kligerman’s woman-owned, independent employee benefits brokerage firm is celebrating 17 years in business this month. “We handle all aspects of employee benefits for small businesses with, typically, under 50 employees,” she says, “including health insurance, HSA plans, dental insurance, life and disability insurance and voluntary plans. We are experts in health reform and how the Affordable Care Act may affect small businesses.”
Currently conducting business in PA and NJ, Kligerman has 27 years of experience in the field and is licensed in Life and Health. She has built a solid reputation in the industry by handholding even the smallest of groups through the complex insurance process. “We pride ourselves on our attention to detail, timely responses, and that we provide accurate information,” she says. “Some companies don’t realize that you can actually form a group with just two people,” Kligerman adds. “Group rates are a lot lower than individual plans.
“My services are completely free, as I get paid only by the insurance company that I place a business with, and consultations are free as well! Anyone should feel free to get in touch with me to see if I can help put a group plan together or save them money on their current plan,” she says.
GetMeAHealthPlan.com also works with many start-up companies to help them navigate putting health plans in place that will attract and retain the talent needed to grow the business. “I started my business after working for a large insurance company for 10 years, where I was responsible for sales across all market segments,” Kligerman says. “I took my knowledge gained through this experience and started GetMeAHealthPlan.com as a brokerage firm. At first it was very part-time, but over a few years I was able to build the business into what it is today.”
The greatest joy in running her own business is “being my own boss,” Kligerman finds. “Nothing can replace being home in the morning to get my daughter off to school or being able to go to her games after school.” In her spare time, she likes to exercise, so you can find her at the gym, taking classes, doing barre or yoga or playing tennis. “I have been playing tennis my whole life!”
