Joan is the executive director of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program, where more than 500 small business owners in the Delaware Valley have graduated. Both the short and long term impact of this program is significant. Within six months of completion, 68% of the businesses grow in revenue in only 6 months and 47 increase jobs, with those number growing at 18 and 30 months.
In her previous roles as Vice President for External Affairs at Saint Joseph's University and Associate Dean, College of Engineering at Villanova, Joan has been an innovator and change agent, securing private and public money for critical programs for which she was passionate such as autism, women's health, cardiac research, and medical education.
Joan has been an active volunteer on numerous boards including the Main Line Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Philadelphia Chamber's Small Business Board, the Forum of Executive Women and the Harvard Women's Leadership Board. Over the years, she has been involved with tackling issues of gender, diversity, child care, adoption, domestic violence, urban planning, the arts, along with her leadership work in professional organizations.
