Rhonda Serkes - Serkes Marketing
From Madison Avenue to her current role as proprietor of Serkes Marketing, Rhonda Serkes has been combining creative experience with technical expertise to help her clients stand out from their crowd of competitors.
Serkes marketing is a full-service digital agency specializing in SEO, Google AdWords and Facebook ads, social media management, website design, and graphic design. Her goal is to help her clients get found, get noticed, get leads, and turn those leads into clients.
Digital marketing is continually changing, she says, and yesterday’s techniques may no longer work.
While it’s a business owner’s role to keep up with this change because leads and clients are the lifeblood of a business, Serkes sees her role as bringing all the elements together in a package that works for a specific client situation.
“It’s imperative that a company understands its target market, knows where that audience can be found, what their prospects’ pain issues are, and how they can differentiate themselves from competitive companies,” Serkes says. “And you can’t just use one channel these days you need a broader reach. My job is to help clients use the data they have and help them plan out their strategy and tactics to produce business growth.”
For example, Serkes is currently functioning as the marketing department for one of her clients. “When they have a marketing issue, they come to me,” she says. “They are actually so busy that I don’t hear from them often, which thrills me, since it wasn’t always like this. This is a demonstration of the trust we have in each other.”
When she first began working with this company, the management didn't see the value of digital marketing. Using her expertise in web, SEO and Google AdWords, Serkes helped this firm realize 30% of its business from online contacts, and that portion of sales has grown 40% each year. “The key is consistency," she says, “and of course, having the right message at the right time for the target audience.”
Serkes recalls another situation that started with a firm’s inadequate website. “We redesigned it and started doing SEO, since they really wanted to get more clients,” she says. “They started getting calls, grew, and ended by being purchased by another company.”
Although Serkes has been a NAWBO member for less than a year, she already sees the value in belonging. “Actually, I joined so that I could become a member of the first Semi-Circle class.” Semi-Circle is a NAWBO Philadelphia mastermind and mentorship program designed to help women business owners overcome growth challenges.
